Thinking Sideways

Why think in straight lines when creative ideas can come from anywhere?

Exposed is a finalist and deserves international Exposure! My (producer, choreographer, performer) daughter’s show. Vote please:

What happens when you stick dogs in purses

From the dog’s perspective, being put in a purse strikes me as the most undoglike thing that could ever happen to a dog. Humiliating! No wonder these little guys are so surly.

We recently had a Lhasa Apso in Palm Beach that’s taken so many chunks out of grocery baggers that it was declared a bad dog by the Town Council, and required to be kept away from the public.

Cookin’ on the grill with these new babies next to me.

One problem with cable TV DirectTV hasn’t covered yet in its ads

This cartoon appeared in the Palm Beach Daily News and on

My editorial cartoon in the Palm Beach Daily News yesterday.

The Aerial ABC’s: online tutorials from the Paper Doll Militia focusing not on new drops (which are dangerous to learn without an instructor present) but on form, technique, muscle engagement and safety!

What happens when you pack a couple of thousand millionaires and billionaires, along with their commensurate egos, on a tiny island? I’m the first and only editorial cartoonist to cover Palm Beach for the Palm Beach Daily News, and I’ve got 20 years of cartoons to prove it. You won’t believe the zaniness in my new book Billionaires and Butterfly Ballots, A 20-Year Palm Beach ‘Cartoonspective’.
And it just happens to be on sale through Father’s Day at, where every copy sold is signed.

Florida Overrun by Lit-i-gators cartoon, original watercolor

Palm Beach County is not in the Devil’s Triangle, unless you are a politician. Then things start to get weird.

Rain, my daughter, being Rain. You should follow the amazing PDM Tumblr and check out their YouTube channel.
Last week’s Palm Beach Daily News Sunday editorial cartoon
The Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote: “The best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men Gang aft agley.” Translation: the best laid plans of mice and men go often awry. Except, where the Army Corps of Engineers are concerned, it probably should be changed to “always go awry.” A recent beach renourishment project was an environmental disaster that left almost boulder-ized rocks strewn on the beach. Du’oh!
My daughter is a general of the Paper Doll Militia. They are getting ready to invade your consciousness: recently mentioned in the New York Times as part of the new guard of American Circus, with world spanning projects lining up. Even if you don’t follow them now, you will later.

My grandfather, circa 1916. Cowboys and Indians.

Today’s editorial cartoons for the Palm Beach Daily News.
If you like cartoons about nature and animals, you should check out my new book Billionaires and Butterfly Ballots, A 20-Year Palm Beach ‘Cartoonspective.’ I think you’ll especially like the Nature Gone Wild and Feral Cats and Pampered Pets chapters.
